The school was started in the year 1964 by the late Bishop Caesar Maria Gatimu. It was initially known as Ngandu Girls high school, named after the place the school is located. The school was run by the Comboni Mission in Karatina, Nyeri county, Kenya. The school’s name was changed to its current name in 1988 in honour of its founder.
