Things at the Nairobi city hall are no longer at ease with some officers. Ever since the Nairobi County boss Mike Sonko found himself in a hot soup over graft cases and looming impeachment motion, some officers at city hall are now living in fear. This incident is linked to a fallout between the reported employees and Sonko
In an exclusive interview with the Nairobi News, Finance Executive Officer Pauline Kahiga and Economic Planning Chief Officer Dr. Washington Makodingo have been on the receiving end. They said goons have been after them forcing them to beef up their security.
“I have suffered; I no longer have a social life. Goons recently raided my office and vowed to kick me out. They told me I was not needed here and threatened to cause bodily harm. I reported the matter to the police because, with the history of violence in this office, you cannot take things for granted,” Makodingo told Nairobi News.
Dr. Makodingo made this revelation almost at the same time Governor Sonko handed over the key functions of Nairobi County to the national government.
Kahiga who has also recorded as statement with the police also claims her life is in danger. She reported that goons have threatened her and she now lives in fear.
Nairobi MCAs have drafted a motion to impeach their county boss.
