After making an application for a driving licence, many people struggle to know if their driving licence is ready for collection. In this article I will show you how you can easily check if your driving license is ready for collection.

NTSA has made it possible for individuals to check and confirm if their licences are ready for pick up. Below are some of the ways you can check if your licence is ready for collection.

How to check if your Driving licence is Ready for collection

  1. By Checking with KRA RTD Checker

You can check if your driving license is ready for collection by using your interim driving license number via the KRA RTD – Driving license Checker. To do this;

  • Go to the KRA website
  • Select, online services button and click on it
  • Select ‘case status checker.
  • You will be redirected to Itax page
  • Input type of case, which is registration and reference number as well as the date
  • Then click on Submit.
  • You will get a response on whether the driving License it is ready or not
  1. Use NTSA App

You can easily check if your driving licence is ready for collection by logging into the NTSA App. If you applied for a Smart Driving Licence, log into the NTSA App or NTSA TIMS website using your details. If your licence is ready for collection it will be indicated in the Dashboard. You will be able to see your Driving licence registration number, the date it was issued and the expiry date. From here you can visit the NTSA offices where you submitted your application for collection.

For the old driving license, log in to your eCitizen account for confirmation

  1. Check Through Short SMS

Another effective method you can use to check if your driving licence is ready for collection is by use of a short code SMS. By sending your ID number to 22846 you will receive a confirmation message notifying you the availability of your driving licence.

  1. Contact NTSA

The last method you can use is to directly contact NTSA. You can do so by visiting their official social media pages and make an inquiry, you can as well email them or call their customer care number. If your Driving licence is ready they will inform you and guide you on where and when you can pick it.

  1. Visit their Offices

Although it is not much effective, visiting the NTSA offices you are supposed to pick your Driving Licence may help. At times your Driving licence could already be at the NTSA offices gathering dust yet you are unaware. However, it is important to confirm its availability using any of the above discussed method before visiting the NTSA offices to collect your driving licence.

NOTE: Regardless of the method you are using your driving licence will be processed and send to the NTSA station you chose once it is ready. The processing time may vary thus the applicant should practice patience should the process be slow.
