TSC To Replace Three Commissioners
Teachers Service Commission TSC submitted 9 names to President Uhuru Kenyatta, This was from the the 24 applicants who were shortlisted to replace 3 commissioners who have since retired. President Kenyatta has picked three names from the list of 9 he received and he is expected to forward the names to parliament for approval or rejection, as required by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) Act.
The retired commissioners whose six year term ended last year are;
Cleophas Tirop (Rift Valley)
Salome Gichura (Central)
Saadia Abdi Kontoma ( North Eastern)

From the Rift Valley Region ,two names were submitted to the president. The President is expected to pick one between Margaret Lesuuda and Mary Rotich.In Central region four names were presented to the president while in the North eastern region three names were presented to the president.
The three who will be approved by the parliament will join Beatrice Adu,Mbarak Twahir,Kinoti Imanyara, Tache Gollo and Albert Ekirapa who are curently serving in the TSC commission.
Inside sources revealed by the Standard News Paper indicates that the successful candidates were picked based on the regions not presently represented at the commission.
The names were recommended by selection panel chaired by Prof John Munene
