TSC List Of 19,943 Advertised Promotion Vacancies And Qualifications
On December 17th, 2024, the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) advertisedl 19,943 promotion slots for teachers in job groups C1 to D3, inviting them to apply online. Of these slots, 16,109 were allocated to primary schools, while 9,179 were designated for post-primary institutions.
Similar to last year, this year’s promotions attracted a large number of applicants. According to the TSC, a total of 189,000 teachers applied for promotions, with 96,640 being primary school teachers and 44,043 from post-primary schools being shortlisted.
This year’s promotion interviews differed from previous years, as the interview panels did not ask any questions. Instead, the panels, composed of Sub-County Directors, Human Resource Officers, and Curriculum Support Officers, focused primarily on verifying documents. Teachers were required to present their IDs, academic certificates, and other relevant documents for verification during the interviews.
The TSC’s promotion scoring system favored older teachers, particularly those aged 45 and above. In the scoresheet, teachers aged 55 and above received 30 marks, while those aged 50-54 were awarded 26 marks. Teachers aged 45-49 scored 22 marks, those aged 40-44 received 18 marks, and those aged 30-39 were given 14 marks.
