2025 Teachers Service Commission(TSC) Promotions
This year 2025 the teachers service commission has lined up promotion opportunities for the promotion of thousands of teachers. This April TSC is issuing 25,288 promotion letters to teachers across the country. The list of promoted teachers will be published on the TSC official website and successful candidates will get promoted.
The TSC had advertised 25,288 promotion slots for both primary and post-primary school teachers. Initially, 5,690 slots for school administrators were advertised from November 12th to 18th, 2024, under Advert 1 to 4 of 2024. Later, on December 17th, 2024, an additional 19,943 slots were advertised for teachers in job groups C1 to D3, with 16,109 slots allocated to primary schools and 9,179 to post-primary institutions.
This year, like last year, a significant number of teachers applied for promotions. According to the TSC, 189,000 teachers applied, with 96,640 from primary schools and 44,043 from post-primary schools being shortlisted.
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) will begin issuing promotion letters in April this year to teachers who were successful in the January and February promotion interviews. Unsuccessful candidates will receive regret letters. A list of promoted teachers will be published on the TSC website.
Promotion interviews for post-primary school teachers, which include those from Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs) and secondary schools, took place from January 27th to February 6th, 2025. For primary school teachers, the interviews ran from January 13th to January 23rd, 2025.
Unlike previous years, this year’s interviews focused solely on document verification, with no questions asked by the interview panels. The panels, comprising Sub-County Directors, Human Resource Officers, and Curriculum Support Officers, verified teachers’ IDs, academic credentials, and other required documents.
The TSC’s promotion scoring system favored older teachers. Those aged 55 and above received 30 marks, while those aged 50-54, 45-49, 40-44, and 30-39 were awarded 26, 22, 18, and 14 marks, respectively.
