Report:Africans Might Be Immune To Coronavirus!!!!

Over the past few weeks, there has been a rumor that Africans are immune to the current corona virus disease.With only a few confirmed official cases, Africa’s low coronavirus rate has puzzles health experts.

Despite numerous fact-checks that have been published, the narrative has still been circulated widely, on the grounds that Africa has reported low cases amid alerts on high risk of infection.

This thought has been widely shared around the world on social media after it emerged that an African man had been treated and cured of the Coronavirus disease..

This claim was shared on a Facebook post some days after the outbreak of the disease in Wuhan China.According to the post it is claimed that a man had been cured because he had a ‘black skin’.

In a report written by The Star, there is no scientific evidence to link the cure to the race of the man.

The report established that Senou a Cameroonian student studying at China’s Yangtze University was admitted to hospital in early February and was successfully treated.The star reported

This was also confirmed by the Chinese Embassy on their Twitter handle.

After this confirmation, an article was published at news.af.feednews.com implying that Senou had been cured because he was black.

The article indicated that Chinese doctors said Senou remained alive because he has black skin, the antibodies of a black are 3 times stronger, powerful and resistant compare to that of white.

This article was then shared on Facebook in South Africa and by the following day, it had received over 2,000 shares.

Days later, france24.com ran an article in its publication claiming health experts had been puzzled with Africa’s low rate of infection.

According to the article, the Chinese doctors confirmed that Senou stayed alive because of his blood genetic composition which is mainly found in the genetic composition of Sub-Saharan Africans.The report read.

Since then, the post has been widely shared in Kenya ,Nigeria and other parts of the world.

The coronavirus has so far claimed over 3000 lives with over 90,000 being infected. Over 75 countries have been hit by the virus. In Africa Nigeria,Senegal Morocco and Egypt have confirmed cases of Coronavirus

The World Health organization had expressed its fears of the virus spreading to countries with poor health system.
