Skiza in one of the best ways to make money if you are an artist or content creator. Skiza Tune is a service provided by Safaricom Telecommunication Company in Kenya. Basically before you can join and start earning from Skiza tunes, you need to register first with a content service provider company that will take up the responsibility of sourcing, formatting and uploading digital content on Skiza. This Content providers acts as middle men between Safaricom and Content creators or artists.
Skiza Tunes helps you as an artist to sell your songs or creative work through ring back platform provided by Safaricom.
How much do artist earn from SKIZA?
Artists and earn 36 percent of the revenue collected from Skiza tunes. This was a rise from the 30 percent they used to earn before the increment was effected in 2017. However artists are pushing for 50/50 share of revenue earned from Skiza tune.
How to register with SKIZA as an artist
If you are an artist or a content creator, you can monetize your music or art work by registering with Skiza. However, Safaricom Skiza does not deal with Artists directly in terms of registration. For one to register with Skiza as a content creator, get a content service provider company first to register. The content provider company acts as a middleman between the artist and Safaricom Skiza tunes. The content service provider companies are contracted by Safaricom to register artist and enter into a contract with them.

The content service provider company will then tailor and register your music or songs. Codes will then be issued for your content for subscribers to use when they subscribe to your music or art work as ring back tune.

How to Monitor your SKIZA earnings
Once you have submitted your Skiza tunes and codes have been generated, you can monitor your earnings through short code USSD message or through online platforms.
How to monitor earnings with USSD SMS code
- On your phone dial *622#
- Enter your unique access code
- Select ‘Query SKIZA Revenue’ option
- Choose the period from which you want your statement, eg year and month of your interest
- Choose the song or content you want the statement on

You can repeat the same process for each song you have on SKIZA platform. Once you have followed the process, you will receive an SMS with your revenue information.

How to Subscribe for SKIZA Tune
For Subscribers you can subscribe for your favorite SKIZA tune at any time and entertain your callers. There are two ways you can subscribe to SKIZA tune of your Choice, Through the use of SKIZA codes and through Express Copying from another person.
By use of SKIZA code
- Dial *811# on your phone with Safaricom SIM card
- Select Subscribe to SKIZA
- Enter the code of your SKIZA tone you wish to subscribe to
- Download your SKIZA tune
- Confirm and Subscribe

You can also get your SKIZA Tune by using Interactive Voice Response. Just Dial 811 or send an SMS with the word SKIZA and the code of the SKIZA tune to 811. eg SKIZA 4000001’
How to subscribe to SKIZA Tune by Express Copying
To get the same SKIZA tune from another person through express copy
- Call the person
- Make sure the SKIZA tune on the ring back is the same with the one you wanted
- Dial 11 before you answer the call
- You will have successfully copied the SKIZA tune.
SKIZA tunes are charges at Sh. 1 for local tunes and Sh.1.50 for international SKIZA tunes content. The charges are on a daily basis and the subscription is automatically renewed at midnight.
