High Tomato Prices Gets BBC Talking About Kenya
Inflation is real and the high cost of tomatoes has caught the attention of world’s biggest media station BBC.
Following the climate change in East Africa, countries especially around the East Africa experienced high rainfall that wrecked havoc and caused destruction not only to plants but to humans too. Floods experienced in Kenya for the past few months have seen people loose lives and structures destroyed. Many were displaced and road networks damaged to a large extent.

But it is now the high cost of tomatoes that has caused focus on Kenya. Tomato prices have hit a record high in the history of Kenya. Currently the price of tomatoes costs up to 7 times higher than the initial cost. A report by BBC reporter Mercy Juma highlights the current situation in the county on tomatoes.
