‘Group Kenya’ The biggest Facebook Group Page In Kenya Has Been Pulled Down
One of the biggest Facebook group Page in Kenya ‘Group Kenya’ Has been Pulled down by Facebook. The group was deleted on Monday 15th June for violating Facebook policies.
This is not the first time for Facebook to take such an action against the group. In 2017 the group had been deleted by Facebook on ground of Facebook Policy Violation, but in no time the groups’ admins formed another group under the same name and gave out a statement.
In their statement they pleaded with Facebook to reinstate the group but all was in vain. Their statement read. “Right now all that is left is to make attempts to contact Facebook’s notoriously detached support and hope that they resolve the issue and reinstate the group,”
As of Sunday before the group was deleted by Facebook, Group Kenya had a membership of over 2.1 Million active members.
Attempts by The Nation Sister Print Media Nairobi News to reach out to Facebook Communications Manager, East Africa Janet C. Kemboi on why the social media platform pulled down the group did not yield fruits as no respond was given.
The group had active members engaging in daily discussions on various matters such as politics, business, lifestyle and trending topics in the country and beyond.
