TSC issues a statement on March Salaries for Teachers

Following the outbreak of Coronavirus in the country, the President ordered closure of learning institutions in the country. This happened towards mid of this month leaving many questions behind whether or not TSC will pay teachers for work not done.

The Teachers Service Commission has been receiving many concerns from teachers and today 24th March, the Teachers service commission has issued a statement assuring all teacher of their March pay.

The statement released by the Teachers Service commission head of communication,Betty Wababu informed all teachers that their March salaries were being processed and will be paid.

“TSC assures teachers that their March 2020 salaries are being processed and will be paid in time.” The Statement read

The statement did not however state whether the commission will still pay for the rest of the period students will be at home.

The date and month when schools will open still remains uncertain considering rising numbers of Coronavirus cases that continue to be reported.
