Cabinet Secretary and Jubilee general secretary Raphael Tuju was this morning involved in a car accident and injured as he was heading to Kabarak after his vehicle hits a matatu at Kijabe along Nairobi-Nakuru road.
The black prado he was travelling in is reportedly to have been badly damaged at the front part. Reports from the scene indicates that his vehicle collided with a matatu and heavy smoke was sported at the scene. Among the occupants of the car were his driver and bodyguard who were also taken to Kijabe Mission hospital for first aid and preliminary care.
The Jubilee general secretary Raphael Tuju is in stable condition but complained of chest pain. He has since been airlifted to Nairobi Hospital for specialist treatment.
The accident occurred while he was heading to Kabarak for the burial of the late President Daniel Arap Moi.
Moi who passed on last week will be laid to rest today Wednesday at his Kabarak home in Nakuru. Thousands of mourners have arrived at Moi’s home for his burial ceremony. As a commander in the Chief of the Armed forces Moi will be accorded state funeral with full millirary honour.
