Over 6000 Teachers to be Promoted By TSC
Following the push by KNUT secretary Wilson Sossion and the court ruling over stagnation in grades by teachers since 2014, the Teachers Service commission has yielded to the outcry and has announced the promotion of over 6000 teachers.
To be precise 6043 teachers will be promoted to the positions of Head Teachers and Deputy Head Teachers. Of these 2310 vacancies will be filled by headteachers whereas 3,733 vacancies that have fallen vacant goes to deputy head teachers.
“The online portals for applying for advert 4/2019 and 5/2019 which are carried in Tuesday’s newspapers will be available by the end of the day” TSC announced Today Tuesday August 2019 on its twitter handle.

The promotion comes after the labor and Employment Relation Court made a ruling that streamlines how teachers promotion will be undertaken.
This ruling will also see 5000 other tutors who have advanced in academic qualifications and attained higher academic qualifications promoted to higher grades.
Eligibility
The vacancies will only be available for head teachers who fall under C5-Scale and deputy head teachers II under C4 T-Scale.
In his ruling Judge Byram Ongaya directed TSC to undertake promotions in accordance with the relevant provisions of the code of Regulations for Teachers .
