Nanyuki Boys High School was started in December 1964 in what was originally a hostel for the children of the British Army. The first 35 students of this school were admitted in 1965. As was the practice then, this school was established through an Act of Parliament and officially opened in 1969 by the then Vice President, the late Daniel Arap Moi, and registered on 26th July 1969. The school Principal is Mr. Oliver Minishi (HSC) and he heads a teaching staff of 52. The number of support staff stands at 32.
