Following an eventful week, here is a list of top searches that Kenyans have been searching for on the internet. The data below was recorded by Google from Sunday 9th to Saturday 15th. Here are the top ten searches recorded by Google.

  1. Raphael Tuju

Tuju is the Secretary General and was involved in a road accident while traveling to Kabarak for the burial service of the late president Daniel Moi. His bodyguard and his driver were also injured. Most Kenyans took to internet to find and follow up on news about him. He is still under medication in Nairobi. Over 155K searches on Tuju were made on the internet.

  1. Daniel Moi

Daniel Moi was the second president of Kenya. He passed on and was laid to rest on Wednesday 12th February at his Kabarak Home in Nakuru. Most Kenyans searched on internet to read about him and followed his funeral program. Over 142K searches were made on the internet last week.

  1. Papa Dennis

Papa Dennis was a Kenyan Gospel Musician who passed on last week after falling from a building in Pangani Nairobi. It is not yet clear whether it was a suicide case or he was pushed from the fourth floor of the building. Over 100K searches were made about the artist

  1. Valentines Quotes

Being a Valentines week a majority of Kenyans took to internet to search for Valentines quotes. Valentine’s Day was observed on 14th of February and over 73K searches on Valentines quotes were made.

A number of Kenyans searched on Google to find out the meaning of valentines. Over 65K Searches were made.

  1. Liverpool.

Football lovers and Liverpool fans made several searches on Google about the team. Liverpool narrowly edged Norwich with One nil victory on Saturday. Over 50K searches on Liverpool were recorded on Google search engine.

  1. Juventus

Juventus who played AC Milam last week were also among the top Searches by Kenyans On the internet. Juventus were held on a 1-1 draw during their first leg of the Coppa Italia tournament. Over 26K searches about Juventus were made last week.

  1. Cyrus Omondi.

Until his death Cyrus Omondi was the MCA of Kahawa Wendani in Kiambu. He was found dead on 13th February in his hotel room in India. Over 10K searches about the late MCA were made on Google.

  1. Rashid Echesa

The former Sports Cabinet secretary hit the headlines late last week he is alleged to have been the mastermind of a syndicate to award illegal tender to a Polish company. It is alleged he had received some money and he was to receive another Ksh.50 million before the plan was uncovered. Over 10K searches about Rashid Echesa were made.

  1. Gor Mahia.

The Kenyan Premier league defending champions Gor Mahia were also among the top searches.

Over 7K searches were made about Gor Mahia who are currently in the second place on the Kenyan Premeir League table.
