How to download payslip on GHRIS – Getting started with GHRIS
GHRIS is an Online Payslip portal through which civil servants in Kenya can view and download their payslips online. Through the portal one is able to download payslips for previous months and even past years.
Through this portal, civil servants can as well access and download their P9 forms to aid them in filing the annual tax returns.
Your P9 form is usually available for download as early as January while your payslip for the end of the month is usually available on the GHRIS portal for download at the beginning of the next month.
In this article, we take a look at how you can get started with GHRIS by creating an account and downloading your payslip.
The portal is designed in-house by the Government and may be accessed by individual employees to view and update their profiles, and HR practitioners in MDAs.
You must have an Updated profile before proceeding.
How to Create a CHRIS account
Before you can log into your GHRIS portal account, you need to have an active account. Upon creating a GHRIS account one is supposed to update their profile and upload the necessary documents required.
You may need assistance from your employer to get the credentials for account creation and login.
How to download your Payslip from GHRIS account
- Log in to the GHRIS web portal with your USER ID and Password, the same you used for the registration form.
- Once logged in, select payslip option
- Select the year
- You will see the list of months for which your payslip is available
- Select the month from which you wish to download the payslip
- Open the payslip to view it
- Download the payslip
- Print it in case you need a hard copy

In case you forgot the password of your login system, click “Forget Your Password” and fill the required form.
A link will be sent to your email through which you can set a new password.
