If there is a song hitting the airwaves and topping chats in Kenyan music industry, then it must be Suzanna by the sensational Sauti Sol band. Love or hate them Sauti Sol is an international band and when they get on the stage they never disappoint.
Their new song Suzanna is playing everywhere and topping the chats thanks to their creativity in releasing songs that cuts across all ages. In less than 2 weeks after the release of the song, Suzanna has received over 2.6 million views on youtube.
The love song depicts its video theme from the 1960s and 70s settings. The Afro hairstyle and dressing style nails it all with old fashioned vehicles bringing the ancient settings memories to reality. The song features Lupita Ny’ongo as Suzanna and the Kenyan Hollywood star plays her role perfectly.

But it is now emerging that Suzanna video depicts its theme from another Kenyan song. Koriryo is a Kalenjin song by Kipsang featuring Sweetstar. In this Kalenjin love song, Afro hairstyle is the theme of the day and depicts ancient environment just the same way Susanna does. The dancing style too is something to look at. This brings us to the question whether Sauti Sol may have copied the video them from Koriryo. Koriryo was released on July last year 2019.
