Angela Merkel goes into quarantine one hour after banning gatherings of more than 2 people

German Chancellor Angela Merkel has gone into quarantine after being informed that a doctor who administered a vaccine to her has tested positive for the Coronavirus. This news came in just one hour after Merkel gave a public address banning gatherings of more than 2 people.

Merkel’s spokesperson said she was informed about doctor’s test shortly after holding a press.

The 65 year old confirmed the news and said she will lead by example by taking herself into quarantine.

The government spokesperson stated that Merkel will undergo several tests and the results of the test will be made public soon.

German has also been hit hard with the Cronavirus pandemic. As of 23rd March the number of death toll in the country had risen to 94 with close to 25,000 people being infected.

So far over 340,000 people have been infected with the virus globally resulting to over 14,700 deaths.

Here in Kenya 8 new cases were reported yesterday bringing up the number of infected people to 15.

The infected patients are under quarantine and receiving medication.
