Larry Madowo wins big internationally
I never thought I’d do anything worthy of this huge honor-those were exact words from Larry Madowo after being selected as a Young Global Leader.
Larry Madowo has been as selected the young global Leader for 2020. The BBC Africa Business Editor launched of six new business TV shows for African audiences in English, French and Swahili. Madowo is also an on-air correspondent on BBC radio and television and has reported from more than 40 countries.
The Kenyan born who for the longest time worked at NTV on the popular show ‘The Trend’ is not leaving anything to chance and he is proving that he is the best on international level in the media industry.

In his statement on 11th March after the selection, Larry expressed how greatful he was and how he never imagined that he would do anything worthy a huge honor.” I never thought I’d do anything worthy of this huge honour. But I set out with many dreams, curiosity and a childlike sense of wonder. Being a Young Global Leader was never part of the plan but here we are.” Larry stated
His achievement was applauded and recognized by many including the Colombia University.

For one to be eligible for selection to the Young Global Leader position; one must be under the age of 40 . One must also be influential person with a drive to make the world a better place. They look at your contributions in innovation for positive change across civil society, arts, culture, government and business.
The aim of the selection is to create a ripple effect over five years that benefit their organizations and the world.
He was the only Kenyan among the ten Young Global Leaders selected. This is something to be proud of here at home in Kenya.
