KRA PIN Application Without Date and Year Of Birth

Many people find themselves unable to apply for a KRA PIN online due to missing details of date of birth and month of birth. This scenario is most common among the elderly whose date and month of birth details were not captured during ID application. In this article I will show you how to generate a KRA PIN for persons missing date and month of both on their IDs.

How to apply For KRA PIN For Persons Missing Date and Month of birth.

Anyone can apply for a KRA PIN through the KRA online platform. You will need your ID, email address and phone number when making an application for a KRA PIN in Kenya. You will also need to enter your postal address details during the application. However if you are missing details of your date of birth and month of birth, you will not be able to apply for a KRA PIN since this fields cannot be left blank.

To apply for a KRA PIN online for a person missing the date and month of birth on their ID, enter 01 as the date of birth and 07 (July) as the month of birth eg if someone has 1969 only on their ID enter 01/07/1969 in the KRA online platform. This will be captured by KRA as their date, month and year of birth and you will be able to generate an online KRA PIN Certificate for them.

To apply for a KRA PIN online of a person missing the date of birth only, enter 01 as the date of birth and the month of birth as it appears on their ID eg if someone has 10/1969 only on their ID, then enter 01/10/1969 in the KRA online platform using the date month and year of birth respectively. This will be captured by KRA as their date, month and year of birth and you will be able to generate an online KRA PIN Certificate for them. Alternatively enter 00 as the date of birth if 01 did not work.

Using 1st of July as the default date and month of birth for people missing this crucial details works well and you will be able to generate a KRA PIN certificate. However many have been wondering, why first of July? The answer is simple. 1st of July is the first day and month in Kenyan government budgetary and KRA financial year.

The financial year usually ends on 31st of June of each years. That’s why individuals ought to file their annual returns on or before 31st of June of each year.
