Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein sentenced to 23 years in prison
After many people came out and spoke about the abuse they received from the Hollywood star Weinstein, it set a center stage for his downfall. The 67 year old was found guilty to sexual abuse cases presented by his victims
Harvey Weinstein the Hollywood producer who has for the past months been battling with sexual abuse charges has been sentenced to 23 year in prison-CNN has reported.
Weinstein arrived at his sentencing hearing in a wheelchair and in handcuffs. He was facing first degree criminal sexual act and third degree rape.

Speaking before the sentence was handed Harvey Weinstein who was struggling to speak said he felt remorse for the situation and he was taking it with a heavy heart that he will spend his time caring and trying to be a better person.
“I’m not going to say these aren’t great people, I had wonderful times with these people, you know,” Weinstein said of his accusers. “It is just I’m totally confused and I think men are confused about all of these issues.”
Attempts by his defense attorneys to have Weinstein sentenced to five years in prison on account that he did not get a fair trial and his poor health were thwarted when the judge passed the sentence.

Judge James Burke sentenced Weinstein to 20 years in prison for criminal sexual act and three years for rape.
In court before the sentence was passed,one of Weinstein’s victim, Haley broke down crying as she recalled the assaults she suffered from Harvey Weinstein.
“I believe that when he attacked me that evening with physical force, with no regard for my cries and protests, it scarred me deeply — mentally and emotionally,” Haley asserted.
