How to Update Safaricom SIM Card Registration Details

Safaricom and Communicationa Authority of Kenya, requires that all SIM card holders update their SIM cards. If you own a SIM card it is important to check and confirm its status. In case you are yet to update your SIM card, there are three methods you can use to update your Safaricom SIM card that I will share with you.

Before you begin the process, you will need to have your ID and the phone number you wish to update. Then follow any of the below process.

Self Update Via USSD

1. Dial *106

2. Select option 1 “Number Query Service

3. Choose Self SIM Registration Update which is option 2

4. You will receive an online link to Safaricom website to start Registration

Registration Through Safaricom Website

1. Visit the Safaricom online registration Portal

2. Enter your Phone Number details that you want to update

3. Agree to the Privacy Policy and Click Next

4. You will receive a ONE TIME Password (OTP) which you should enter to continue

5. You will then see a list of all under you.

6. Select the phone numbers the ones you know. Then click next.

7. Now upload a picture of your ID both front and back sides separately.

8. Make sure the pictures are clear and properly cropped to only focus on the ID bit.

Click Verify!

Using mySafaricom App to verify

1. On the home page, there’s a notice to verify SIM details

2. If you can’t find it, go to the Account page and click “Update SIM Registration Details”

3. Go through the steps above and provide required details

4. Verify your numbers to complete the process

Still you can get your SIM card updated by visiting the nearest Safaricom Shop or Agent with your ID to get your SIM card updated.

In case you don’t see phone numbers that should be listed, contact or visit the nearest Safaricom Shop for assistance. Make sure you also numbers you believe aren’t yours.
