7. You will receive confirmation message with loan application serial number

2.Register and activate with your personal Safaricom line to generate activation code

3. Create a 4 digits PIN

4. Confirm your personal and institutional details to proceed

5. Click on the “Apply Subsequent Products” option

6. Choose “Get started” tab

7. Click on loan application option

8. Read and understand the loan terms and conditions then agree and proceed

9. Answer all financial questions and click on “Proceed”

10. Select your preferred loan payment option and verify to proceed

11. Click on request loan,

12. review your loan details and then click on “Submit”

13. Upon completion, you will see your loan serial number on both the app and SMS notification confirming your application.

The online portal for Helb loan application is still in the making and soon applicants will be able to apply for HELB subsequent loan directly from the online portal.

The number of loans for which you’re eligible depends on the duration of your program. For instance, a four-year program typically allows for four loan disbursements, while a five-year program may accommodate up to five disbursements.

If you fall into any of these categories, HELB offers two primary types of undergraduate loan applications:

1. First-Time Application: This serves applicants venturing into higher education for the first time.

2. Subsequent Application: After the first application, you are eligible for more loans. The subsequent application is designed for you if you are applying for the second, third, or fourth time in alignment with the duration of your academic program.
