Charges for passport application in Kenya and passport application process. When applying for a passport in Kenya, there are various charges you will be billed depending on the passport type or number of passport pages you are applying.
There are various types of passports one can apply for in Kenya, among them are Ordinary A series, Ordinary B series and Ordinary C series passports.
The cheapest e-passport (32 Pages Ordinary “A” Series) goes for Ksh.4,550. You will be charged Ksh.12,050 for replacement of a lost passport
Diplomat passport is issued to high ranking government official
The amount you will pay will depend on the passport type you are applying

How to apply for a passport
- Log into Ecitizen website and register if you do not have an account
- Go to immigration.ecitizen.go.ke and or Department of immigration services
- Click on the passport application form.
- Read the instructions carefully then fill the application form.
- Select the mode of payment and pay for the passport fees eg M-Pesa.
- Download and print the application form and three application receipts.
- Submit the application form in person to the Immigration offices.
Once you have completed the online application process, you will be required to present your application to the Immigration office you selected for processing of your details.
How Long will it take before getting your passport
Getting a passport after making application no longer takes like it used to be. It should take at least 10 working days to get your first passport once your form has been physically submitted at the Immigration offices.
