How I Managed Depression

A scar is a mark left on the skin or within body tissue where a wound, burn, or sore has not healed completely and fibrous connective tissue has developed. Scars in life ain’t our normal thing but at times it seems like is a chronic disease that is meant to be within us in our life time only wounds heal but scars are there meant to be. I vividly remember some year back when Kenya was at a state of emergency and the whole nation was in bad shape. My mother’s younger brother a student in form four by then came home to stay with us as we awaited the leaders  to solve the wrangles. The young uncle was so kind and caring and we shared the best moments together and even deep secrets.

Days went by with no time months flew past us and the uncle started teaching me bad morals. Soon we got the news from our national television that now the leaders are on agreement and everything was back to normal, we were all happy that day my mother said that she was going to visit someone and she won’t be back that night so she prepared us for lunch and supper and said she will come  by tomorrow evening. I was excited that on the very night me and my uncle we were going to watch movies whole night long without being limited on it. When it was late at night we cooked supper and ate it then we started to watch movies.

My uncle was so excited that we were home “alone” the took his hand and placed it on my thighs and asked me a crucial question, ”do you know what I usually do to my girlfriend your aunt? ” He asked, definitely I had no hint on love stories I said no and he said he is not going to show me it. I was surprised how would he show me then he stood took out a knife and told me to stripe naked and never tell anyone about it. I was shaken down that I had to do what he said just to save my life for more days ahead. It was so painful but I had to withstand the pain.

I lived with the untold story since then. My mother sort of noticed I was not normal then since she had masters in psychology  she took me to counselor  who tried hard to pursue me to talk but I didn’t in our school kazi moto doctors usually visited and we usually had time to talk to their counselor after having fun time together. Thanks to kazi moto doctors who helped me heal the wound using local herbs in me  and keep the scar behind scenes.
