Migori Man Suspects Foul Play as Girlfriend Goes Silent Every Weekend, Claims She’s “Too Busy”
Lucas Otieno, a 32-year-old resident of Migori, is grappling with suspicion and concern over his girlfriend’s weekend behavior. According to Otieno, his girlfriend, who works with the Kirinyaga County government, has been routinely going offline every Friday and only reappearing on Monday. Her explanation? She’s “too busy” to be in touch.
Otieno says the couple has been dating for almost a year, and while things started out smoothly, the pattern of disappearing every weekend has recently raised red flags. “She’s always reachable during the week, but come Friday evening, she goes completely offline,” he explained. “When I ask, she says her job keeps her busy, but it doesn’t make sense to me. No one can be that busy every single weekend.”
Otieno admits that he has tried to trust her and ignore the unsettling feeling, but he can’t shake off the doubts that creep in when he hears nothing from her for three full days. He recalls a few times he asked if they could meet over the weekend, but she always had reasons to postpone or claimed she had work obligations in Kirinyaga.
Adding to his concerns, Otieno says that despite her being unreachable on calls or texts during weekends, she’s often active on social media, sharing posts or liking photos. “It feels strange. She tells me she’s too busy to reply, but she’s still active online,” he noted.
Seeking advice, Otieno shared his situation with friends, who have offered mixed reactions. Some urged him to have a serious talk with his girlfriend to clear up the matter, while others hinted that she may be hiding something. “A friend of mine suggested I visit her in Kirinyaga one weekend, just to understand what’s going on, but I worry it might come off as distrustful,” Otieno said, torn between addressing his suspicions and wanting to respect her privacy.
